Miscellaneous Projects  - projects that contribute to well being and peace, such as animal liberation and environmental protection

Animal Liberation

Since its founding, Danang organizes animal liberation in Tibet annually, freeing livestock such as sheep and other creatures small and large.

In Tibet, animals are sometimes butchered by cruel means such as decapitation or by strangling.

Traditionally, in animal liberation, an animal is purchased from the butcher. Monks or lamas perform prayers and stamp the animal with a ‘longevity’ mark. The animal is brought to a safe area so it may live until natural death occurs. This is a good way to protect captured animals.

Danang invites you to participate in animal liberation. Donors will receive a picture of the animal(s) that he or she has saved.

Animal Protection

Efforts in protection of animal lives will be more practical and enduring if butchers are given training and financial support, so that they may find other means of making a living. Danang has plans in this direction as well.

Environmental Protection

Danang is in touch with students and Sanghas in schools and monasteries, and will sponsor clean up visits to tourist areas and historical sites during breaks and holidays. Schools and monasteries are encouraged to carry on the initiative and regularly organize these environmentally friendly clean-ups events.

The Merit in Rejoicing

There is much merit in constant rejoicing and the cultivation generosity. With these two qualities, it will be possible for beneficial acts to increase and more sentient beings will benefit.
