Education - scholarships and bursaries for lay and monastic education, and building retreat centres

 Scholarships and Bursaries

Danang currently gives scholarships for basic education to children of disadvantaged families in the remote agricultural and pastoral regions of Tibet. Next on priority for scholarships are students who lack financial means to continue secondary education. The scholarship covers tuition and other expenses. Danang will provide for 20 students over a three-year period. This program concentrates on assisting students in Tibet, but will gradually reach out to other needy students in Nepal, India and other regions.

In 2008, some students from Mustang, Nepal, who are enrolled for basic education, received this scholarship as well. (refer to picture below) Danang will continue to develop its education initiatives–

Enrichment Programs(New Initiative!)

In 2009, Danang fully sponsored enrichment programs in an already established school in Kathmandu, Nepal.

At present, 140 Tibetan students of various backgrounds are enrolled. There are classes in Tibetan Language, Buddhism and English Language. Each student attends two to three classes daily. Danang carefully appoints each of the monk, professor and language teacher to teach in these classes. The program is very well received and popular.

Your generous donation will help improve the quality of the courses, and allow more students to enroll.

Scholarships and Bursaries for the Ordained Community

Danang provides financial support for training, medical and living expenses of the ordained community.  To date, Danang has supported more than 70 monks through this program.
