Charity - provide financial aid to the orphaned, elderly, and disabled in Tibet
Providing shelter and care for orphans
Providing for orphaned children
In 1996, Danang founded an orphanage to
care for 23 orphans in Tibet. In 2006, Danang’s efforts expanded to the outskirts of Tibet and Nepal. Danang currently supports 87 children, providing them with all necessities and care. However, there is a constant need to fund raise because of increasing difficulties in covering expenses. Apart from providing for the orphanage’s current dependants, Danang hopes that care can be extended to many other needy children in the areas.
Three-year Plan for An Orphanage in Nepal (New Initiative!)
In 2009, Danang initiated a three-year plan to build an orphanage in Kathmandu, Nepal, to provide for orphaned children from Tibet, Nepal, India and other places, who are without sources of support. It is estimated that at least 180 children will benefit from this project.
We appeal to your charity and support that the orphanage will be built successfully.
Care and Facilities for Seniors and the Elderly(New Initiative!)
Danang collaborates with established senior care centers in Tibet, Nepal and India to provide care for the elderly. Monthly subsidies and medical expenses are given to seniors above 60 years old, who live alone and have no other sources of support. This program will benefit at least 300 elderly persons, for at least 3 years.
Care and Support for Elderly Sangha (New Initiative!)
The hot and humid region of South India causes many ordained elderly fromTibetan monasteries to succumb to sickness and diseases. As the monasteries cannot afford to provide medical costs or nutritional supplements, many among the Sangha suffer prolonged illnesses due to lack of adequate health care.
Danang Benevolence Association launched a new program in South India, to provide elderly monks over 50 years old with medicine and nutritional supplements for their health and medical needs.
This program assists 500 elderly monks and will eventually reach out to an even larger number.
The Sangha is likened to a field of merit. To nurture a field of merit is itself a meritorious act. May everyone participate in sowing the seeds of merit.
Assistance for Persons with Disabilities
In Tibet, aid and support are given intermittently to persons with disabilities. Danang is currently planning to establish a specialized team to provide living, medical and educational support to help disabled persons towards self-reliance.
Homeless and frail elderly
We now help support the homeless and frail elderly by assisting facilities that provide care for thispopulation. By supplying funds and provisions to senior care centers in the countryside of Tibet, Nepal and India, we expect to support approximately 300 elderly persons annually.
For over 60 year olds who live alone and in poverty, giving monthly subsidies for care and medical expenses. Planning to assist 300 elderly persons every year for at least three years.
